GENERAL:

1. New members:
Individuals who wish to join the Quinte Curling Club shall designate their intent by the completion of the Application Form and payment of the Initiation Fee and Base Membership Fee. The Director - Membership and Publicity and the President must approve the application before membership is granted.

2. Returning members:
Last year's members and previous members (initiation fully paid) can confirm their status as returning members to the club for the upcoming season by paying the Base Membership Fee, no later than September 30th. If payment is not received by this date, these individuals will be treated as new applicants for the current season.

3. Membership Fees:
The full membership fee must be paid by all members no later than October 31st of the current season to continue with club and curling privileges. New members joining during the season must have their accounts settled before curling.

4. Team Requirements:
4.1 Three Player Teams - A 3-player team may be entered into a league, at the discretion of the league convener and the appropriate director, with the understanding that a forth, full-time player will be added. Such teams will only be added to complement a draw and will be ineligible for league prizes and playoffs unless a forth member is declared by the end of the first draw.
4.2 Five Player Teams - A 5-player team may be entered into a league. All players must pay the appropriate league fee and be declared to the league convener. A team will be considered a 5-player team when all players plan to make a regular contribution to the team.

LIMITS ON LEAGUE ENTRIES:

If membership numbers rise to levels that cannot be accommodated in league play, the club may impose limits on team and individual entries. The following will apply:

1. The respective Directors (Daytime, Nighttime and Mixed Curling) will determine the maximum number of curlers and teams they can accommodate.

2. For team entry leagues, the following priority order will be used to accept teams:
2.1 Returning Teams: any three returning members or the skip plus one other returning member of a team from last year's league.
2.2 Teams including any two returning members from last year's league, in order of registration.
2.3 New teams accepted in order of registration.

The remaining members of the team must be declared before the first league game and they must also have their base fees paid prior to curling. Failing to do so would result in forfeiting the team's status in the league if there are other teams on the waiting list.
(Clarification: teams with 5 or more players must identify the 4 regular players for future application of this rule).

3. For individual entry leagues the returning members will have priority over new members, who are accepted on the basis of registration dates.

SPARE OR WAITING LIST CLASSIFICATIONS:

Should it not be possible to accommodate new curlers on teams, they may chose to sign up as spares or include their names on the waiting list. These arrangements will operate as follows:

1. Classified Spare:

If a new applicant wishes to join as a spare s/he must pay the initiation fee, base fee and an appropriate league fee.

There is no limit on the number of games a spare can play, or on league participation.

A spare may be transferred by invitation to a competitive team at any time a regular player is needed.

Classified Spares will have priority selection to individual entry league curling over those on the waiting list, in order of their registration date.

2. Waiting List:

Individuals interested in becoming club members may want to be included on the waiting list. Priority to league curling selection will be in order of registration dates, after all Classified Spares are accommodated.

Potential curlers on the waiting list do not enjoy curling privileges until admitted as club members. The full membership payment (which may be prorated) becomes due prior to joining a league.

The Club Manager/Secretary administers the Classified Spares and the Waiting List. When curlers are admitted to league curling from these classifications, the Director will initiate removal from the list.
